On March 22, 2024 I went for a dental procedure and my life completely changed. Something went wrong when they put me under anesthesia and my heart stopped. I have been in the hospital since. They say that there is something wrong with my liver because of the life support I was on and because my heart stopped multiple times. This condition is very rare.
We are not sure how long my liver will last, but things aren’t good.
I haven’t left the hospital since this happened. All I want to do is get back to all the things I love. Until I am able to get stronger I am unable to get out of this wheelchair. I’m 19 years old and also on the autism spectrum, with so much more I want to do in my life. Because of my unique challenges it's made my healing more difficult. Most hospitals aren’t equipped to deal with people like me, especially because I’m now 19 and can't get pediatric care.
Adam is in the Rochester, NY area. He is very loved. He loves playing the steel drums, mini golf, game shows, swimming, water parks and so much more. This situation has been life changing for him and his entire family. With a liver donation, there is hope for Adam to return to the life he once had.
Giving a part of your liver will help save Adam and your liver will heal and regenerate over time.
Please if you are able, consider filling out the Donor Questionnaire to see if you could possibly be a match, or share his story to your friends and family. Someone out there could save his life and save his family a lifetime of heartache.
***Fabulous Update***
Tuesday, August 27th, Adam finally made it home! After over 5 months in the hospital, he is home awaiting a transplant, and hoping for a match. He is able to walk with a walker! Everyone is thrilled he is home, even the cat!!!
